Our service for Harvest will be on Sunday 18th October
Rev Kevin Charles from St Wilfrid’s is keen to start a monthly parish newsletter with St Thomas’ to keep us all informed of what is happening in the two parishes. So two or more people from our congregation are required to attend a meeting with St Wilfrid’s representatives to see if such a venture could be undertaken. Our two would need to gather information and news for publication and pass it on to the people at St Wilfrid’s for them to collate and produce a newsletter, which could then be distributed around churches and in the community(reminiscent of the lapsed”New Link” we used to have.)
If you feel that you could be a part of this please see Neil.
Monday 28th September 2pm the MU Deanery Festival will be at New Cross Church, Neil will be preaching at this service. All are welcome
Pat has received two letters from Traidcraft thanking us for supporting them over the years with our sales and acknowledging the two donations of £500 and £300 we have been able to send to their international development Charity Traidcraft Exchange. The £500 earlier in the year was matched pound for pound by the government. The monies will be used to help smallholder farmers and artisans in South Asia and East Africa.
Thank you again for all your faithful support over the years to Traidcraft and remember you can still buy personally on line.
The Lady Chapel is being replastered week beginning Monday 21st September, so Morning Prayer and Wednesday Holy Communion will take place in the chancel, or, if that’s too noisy, the church hall.
The Mothers Union meeting on Wednesday 23rd September is postponed. Further details to follow.
The next meeting is on Monday 21st September at 7.30pm in the Lady Chapel(please check venue, due to replastering work)
