St Wilfrid’s have invited us to their service to commemorate the start of World War 1 on Sunday 3rd August at 7.30pm. There will be a short service in church, then a walk to the War Graves in their churchyard where a short service will be held, then back in to church for a quiet time of prayer and reflection.
This is after church on Sunday 13th July. Everyone is invited. Meat and bread will be provided, could people bring salads and puddings? It would be helpful, but not essential, to know how many people were coming! Donations towards cost of meat would be appreciated. It should be a good opportunity to share food and time together and I would be great if as many of us as possible could be there.
Thanks to Julie and Andy for arranging the picnic last Sunday. We all had a fantastic time!! Below are a few of us who went on the extended walk to find the orchid meadow and very nice it was too, thanks John T.!!!!

Armed Forces Day Service
This takes place on Saturday 28th June at 10.30am at the Council Offices .It’s not at church because the council aren’t able to get the road closed for the parade from church to the council offices. The service will last about 30 mins, followed by a few words from council leaders and the raising of the flag.
The foodbank continues to have a massive impact on people’s lives
and people are amazed by the generosity they receive.
All tins of basic foods are gratefully received by the foodbank and stocks of rice pudding, spaghetti, meat, soup and fruit are running low.
Framework work very closely with the foodbank and have asked for a request to be put out for certain things. If over the next few months you are having a clear out or have spares of cutlery, plates, cups, bedding, or any basic kitchen or living items, they would help people who move out of temporary accommodation to their own properties and have to start from scratch.
Things can be left at the Ashwood Centre.
Many thanks again to all who support the foodbank.
How do we join together in prayer for the transforming mission of God?
Grounded and rooted in the missionary God we come to know God’s transforming presence. The Diocesan Prayer and Spirituality Group want to listen around the diocese to discern how they can support people to grow in prayer and our spiritual life together can flourish. They want to know what is happening at the moment and what could be happening in the future.
